Did Diana Eneje Scam Nigerians with her Advent Calendar?

What began as a Christian tradition in 19th-century Germany, created to help people—especially children—count down the days to Christmas is now allegedly used to scam people?
Advent Calendars transitioned from a religious countdown to a luxury lifestyle experience as high fashion and beauty brands incorporate it into their Christmas or holiday season launch.

We have brands like;

Dior, Tiffiany & co, Saint Laurent, Liberty London, Fortnum & Mason, YSL Beauty, Armani Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics and many more brands that engage in the concept of a advent calendar.

Towards the end of 2025, during the Christmas season, the Nigerian entrepreneur, social lite, model and influencer Diana Eneje released her very first Advent Calendar which was Twelve (12) days under The Shine Cartel, her business. She sold it for a hundred and five thousand naira (105k),

Nigerians were excited to have brands in the country engage in Advent Calendars. All these excitements

faded as soon as they got their package. It was an underwhelming experience for every single one who purchased it, the content of the Advent Calendar

Wasn’t worth the price according to many Nigerians.

Diana was dragged, criticized and called out as Nigerians felt that they were scammed by this.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have Nigerians opining that Nigerians do not understand the concept of an advent calendar elucidating that what Diana did was meant to be so.

According to these people, nobody was scammed and everyone should be happy that we finally have advent calendars, because the concept of it in the country Nigeria was almost non-existent until the year 2025.
